Tiger Photo Gallery -

JV urges all photographers,
professional or amateur, to make their tiger pictures
speak, to share their tiger experiences through pictures! A majestic species is slipping to extinction. He
has formed Tiger Photo Gallery and he is
inviting all photographers who have visited Tiger Canyons or any
Tiger Sanctuary, for that matter, to submit 6 of your most interesting pictures to
Tiger Photo Gallery. Tell us what
effect the tiger had on you, the influence, the inspiration. Give us
ideas on how, together, we can use our pictures to create pressure.
We have the ability to communicate globally. We have websites, Facebook, YouTube,
Twitter, cell phones and email at our disposal, let's
use them! Remember to caption your pictures and send

I’m not sure about the quality of these
shots but they fulfil an ambition I had had for most of my
life. I first visited India about 10 years ago, going up to
Corbett Park for a few days. I didn’t see a tiger, nor on my
next Indian excursion to SARISKA?! We saw a leopard and the
visitors book had a sighting the previous week. When news
came through that there were no longer any tigers in Sariska,
I thought back and it seemed to be the last sighting had
been just weeks after my visit.
My third visit was to Bandhavgarh,
followed by Kanha – 12 different tigers in all, including
following a tigress at a distance for about 2kms as she
marked her territory –stunning and I will be forever
grateful for Indy, our guide, who realized the tigress who
had been sitting all morning, may be about to do that.
I am now resident in Turkey but hope over
the next couple of years both to return to India, and return
to Southern Africa, where I have been many times, but this
time to see Tiger Canyons.
